If you are having problems opening up Adobe Encore CS6 in non-royalty-serialized mode, this post is for you. I've compiled a list of steps that may help fix the problem. #1 Check your computer's system requirements to make sure it meets the minimums required to run Adobe Encore CS6. Most computers come with a DVD drive and a high speed internet connection that should be sufficient. #2 Run Windows Update to make sure your operating system is up-to-date with any recent updates from Microsoft. If interested, the information can be found here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windowsupdate/. #3 Make sure your Adobe Encore CS6 is up-to-date with any recent updates. This can be done by going to Help -> Updates -> Check for Updates. #4 If you still cannot open Adobe Encore CS6, reinstall it to make sure it is up-to-date (i.e., C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Adobe\\Adobe Encore CS6). To reinstall it, go to Programs and Features in Windows Control Panel and select the program and follow the steps to uninstall and reinstall. When doing this, remember to use an account with administrative privileges (i.e., Not User Account Control). #5 Run Adobe Encore CS6 as an administrator. To do this, right click on the application shortcut and go to Properties. In the Compatibility tab, check the box that says "Run this program as an administrator". Also, check "Privilege Level" and change it to "High." #6 Uninstall any previous versions of Adobe Encore CS6. These may be in your C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Adobe directory (you can open this by going to Programs and Features in Windows Control Panel and selecting Adobe Synthesis). #7 Make sure you have the latest drivers for your hardware (i.e., video card, sound card, etc.). Drivers are available on the manufacturer's website for your specific model of hardware. #8 Try running Adobe Encore CS6 in compatibility mode. To do this, right click on the Adobe Encore CS6 shortcut and go to Properties. Under the Compatibility tab, check the box that says, "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and choose Windows 7 (Service Pack 1). Also check the box that says "Privilege level" and change it to "Run this program as an administrator". #9 If all else fails, create a new user account with administrative privileges on your computer or sign into your computer with an account with administrative privileges. #10 Check your network connection to see that it is working.
